Harrisonburg KOA

We have been staying at the Harrisonburg KOA in Virginia for many years 2 years ago Mrs Monica sold it. Last year we went for Halloween and it was barely full and no one really decorated so we wound up winning the decoration contest but it just plain old boring now. It’s a lot of over night campers and hardly any kids during the week. They still have the chicken and now they have duck but everything is dead by 8. We got there around 5  think and did our normal tradition and got Burger King , I’m pretty sure the Jr whopper has gotten smaller and the price has gone up but that’s neither here nor there. After we got done eating we headed to the campground its only about 10 min away. Got the camper all set up and Paul and the kids headed to the pool while I stayed back and tried to get some school work done. I decided to go down right around 8 and by the time I got down there the pool was closing and so was the camp store and they did the movie while it was still light out???? and it was a Saturday how lame is that. Nothing to do after that so I went to the grocery store while Paul and the kids played exploding kittens and UNO. I cam home around 1120 OMG driving to the grocery store was terrifying Harrisonburg doesn’t believe in street lights and I was in a tinted dualy. I thought for sure I was going to hit a deer or JASON or MICHEAL or some other killer. As I arrived at the super Walmart I breathed a small sigh of relief and then realized I still needed to get back.
Sunday we took a family trip to Luray Caverns, we took the kids there once when they were small JP was still in a stroller and I think Paul carried Kenzie most of the way. I didn’t remember it being that big. My favorite part is the water that reflects the ceiling and makes it look really big. JP pointed out that there was a rock that just looked like it was floating. Stopped a Cooters where they had a replica of that orange car with the number one from the dukes of hazards and the sheriff and the tow truck There wasn’t really anything to see there and They had a blue grass band playing that we stood and listened to. The took another trip to the grocery store for ice cream
Monday we were suppose to go into Sky Line Drive but Paul was sick with the stomach bug so we just steered clear of him and let him do his thing. I took the kids to the pool e had it all to ourselves. They left a couple of times to play on the playground and came back. We left there at 4 to cook dinner t the trailer (outside). Then I took the kids to the indoor water park while Paul rested, another ride down a small road with a very large truck, but we survived and had a blast playing until around 7 when someon threw up in one of the pools and they had to close it for a half hour. I went down one of the big slides with the kids in a three tube and we did the wave pool. We had a really good time but they kept saying it wasn’t the same without dad. On the way home we stopped at the grocery store and got Paul apple sauce and ginger ale and Motrin, poor guy. I made tostidos for the kids at the camper and they ate them like they’ve never eaten before we were starving
