Gettysburg Battlefield Resort Halloween

Well we were suppose to go to Harpers Ferry this year for halloween but my husband waited to long to make a reservation, so Hershey was the next place. We decided at the last minute to go to Gettysburg. We went with my inlaws and my sister and brother inlaw and their daughter Lauren. We had a good time got lots of candy for the kids and the weather was nice. We were back by the pond this time and on the same site. We had very nice neighbors that had two kids a boy and a girl who were both 4 i think. The played together most of the weekend their parents were much older then my husband and I so we didn't kick it off.

So we went trick or treating on Saturday Kenzie was a kitty and JP was a tiger. I painted Kenzies face but by the time we got done she had rubbed it all off. She walked a little but we pulled them both around in the wagon for the most part. they both just looked so cute and Kenz just loved being a kitty she still want to wear her costume around the house.

This should be the last camping trip of the season which is a little sad but we have next year.

Elkneck state park

We go to Elkneck state park every year. its in Elkton Maryland. Its a very clean state park they have a small play ground for the kids and lots of trails ranging from easy to difficult. And a very big plus in our book is that it"s very pet friendly as well. Bathrooms are always very clean as well, they have a camp host on every loop that keeps everything in order and they do a wonderful job. They have a camp store which I don't think I have ever been in and a small laundry area. This year was the first year we went to the beach, it's clean but if you go deffinatly take some water shoes with you it's nothing but rocks. at the beach area theres a recycled tire playground that Kenzie our two year old love and my husband as well. Its a wonderful park with a light house you can hike to and just enjoy the view. I left my website in the "pass on" book in the bathroom and if the camp host is reading this I would like to personally thank you again for all you do at the park. It makes camping so much nicer when everything looks nice.

Granite Hill in Gettysburg Pa 2010

After we left Endless Caverns we went to Granite Hill where we camped with my inlaws. We shared a site with my sister and brother inlaw and our niece. My mother and father inlaw stayed in our camper mostly because we have the extra space. My brother inlaw has a motor home with only one bed room. and it was three of them plus their 4 small dogs. yes a little crazy. All in all we had a fun time nothing to great happened< I got some much needed fishing in the have a stocked pond. Kenzie discovered the golf cart and we couldn't keep her off of it all weekend. We had a very good time.

Endless Caverns Virginia

We stayed ay Endless Caverns Rv Resort from Monday to Friday. this was one of the nicer campgrounds we've stayed at since we started camping. Every site has full hook ups and 50 amp service. This is definitely not a tent campground it was a little over 50 dollars a night, which is cheaper then Harpers Ferry KOA. The only down fall was theres not a whole lot of things to do there. They have a pool, shown above, with a walk in and a mushroom that spills water at one end, on the other end is a a basket ball net. The pool goes from zero to four feet, it had a bench steps and two ladders.
Monday we arrived and whilePaul set up I took Mckenzie to the very small playground. That was one thing i didn't like about our site, it was in view of the swings and every time Kenzie would look out the window she'd see them and want to go play.
we also went to Luray caverns on Wednesday and we drove Sky Line drive on Thursday it worked out good for us because it rained wednesday most of the day and it was beautiful and clear on thursday so we saw all the gorgeous site Sky Line drive had to offer.
I think we would definitely go to endless caverns again during the summer. Probably wont to go any other season there just isn't enough to do.

Harpers Ferry KOA

We stayed at the KOA from Thursday to Monday. We were suppose to leave on sunday but I decided i wanted to stay an extra day because I really enjoy that campground. Theres lots of things for kids of all ages and since I have a, soon to be, one year old and a two year old that works perfect for me. My in-laws went with us on this trip the sleep on the sofa bed it has a queen air mattress which is really nice for them.
When we got there on thursday we arrived around 4 I guess Paul had to set up in the pouring down rain. of course it was sunny the whole day and as soon as we parked it started raining. his father helped him and his mother helped me. I've gotten very good with how my set up goes, I cut a lot of time off of it from when we started camping. It goes very smoothly and I think Mrs Ann gets offended when I say I don't need her help but I have a system that works well for me and she gets in the way and asks a lot of questions. The whole time we we're there Kenzie wanted to go for walks with her baby doll stroller she walked miles I think just pushing that baby around.
Friday we walked around the campground and went to the playground a couple of times
Saturday Paul, Kenzie, Mr Lee, and I , Mrs Ann stayed back with Jp, went to historic Harper Ferry its so pretty there. We went in to some shops and climbed about a billon stairs to get to Jefferson rock and the cemetery, where I saw the most beautiful house I've ever seen by the way. Its just to bad that I didn't have my camera to take a picture. Also that day we made some friends that live about 45 minute away from us I guess. There names were Annie and Mike they have two boys a 4 year old and a 2 year old. I think we're going to try to get together with them for halloween. of course that night the dog got the shits in the trailer twice and she remained sick for the rest of the trip.
Sunday we went to the pancake breakfast they have every weekend , it's all you can eat "pancakes" for 3 dollars everything else was extra. then we went to , of all places while your camping, Walmart. Then Paul Mrs Ann, Mr Lee Kenzie, and Jp all went swimming while I did the laundry, and of course as soon as I went to join them they were done. Kenzie threw up on our bed that night and I had to foot ball carry her to the bathroom.
All in all however it was a good camping trip. I really do enjoy going to Harpers Ferry theres a lot to do and the camp ground is very big and clean. A helpful hint for anyone who reads this keep your site maps and go through the campground and circle all the ones that you like. Since you can make reservations online now you can refer back to your site map. I keep a folder in the camper of all our site maps

Granite Hill in Gettysburg Pa

We went to granite hill for three days and this time we took My inlaws Ann and Lee Perry. again we had good weather it rained monday night but we were still able to stay outside in the screen tent. The site wasn't very big but we were a lone and could see tent campers in the distance so we just took as move room as we wanted really. we only really had enough room for the trailer and the screen tent we parked the cars on the other side of the road. the have a pool there even though it was small it went up to nine feet at the deepest end and 3 feet at the more shallow end.
Monday during the day we went int to town to brush up on our history. They built a new visitor center there with a book store, a restaurant, a museum, and theatre. we took the wagon and opted out of the stroller and we had plenty of room to wheel the kids around. of course i don't have any picture because my camera died as soon as we got there. but it was a very nice weekend and we cooked everything outside and weren't in the trailer most of the time so i had hardly any mess to clean up. we played uno I won by the way and roasted marshmellow and made pizza sandwiches over the fire.
oh i don't know if i mentioned it before but 9 times out of 10 we also take our chocolate lab with us on all of camping trips. her name is Elle and she's 4 years old shes pretty good most of the time but we did have an incident in Frontier town she had the hershey squirts and we had to keep her outside for 24 hours so she wouldn't poop in the trailer again.
So next month we're going to Haprers Ferry and Gettysburg battlefield resort and somewhere else that were not sure yet. 2 straight weeks of camping should be fun I'll remember to charge my camera this time

Frontier town In Ocean city Md

Hello to all you people who don't exist yet. Fronteir town was beautiful. despite having to walk a mile to get to the water park (which Mckenzie loved by the way) it was really nice. we had a beautiful site close to the water and the pool. we were able to fit the trailer two cars a screen house a put put tent for kenzie and all of our camping chairs at the site and still have plenty of room to build our camp fire without burning anything to the ground. we had nice weather all week two which was a saying something because we go every year and the past two or three years its been cold and raining.
we did all the usual OC stuff ; thrashers french fries, Fischers pop corn, luvs funnel cake, the boardwalk, rides. we didn't mini golf but i suck at that anyway LOL. we went to the Frontier town water park two days and the to the town once and got on the train and saw the shows and the rodeo. Mckenzie rode on a very small pony and Jp got pulled around in the radio flier wagon we bought a couple of years ago for kenzies first birthday.
As i mentioned on the previous entry i took my friend Kate and my brother Bernie with us on this trip which happen to be a big mistake 6 people in a trailer for a week is not what i call fun. and i would never do it for a week ever again. by the end of the trip i wanted nothing to do with Kate and i wanted to kick my brother in the , pardon my french, balls. By the way they've been hanging out a lot the last 4 weeks and are thinking about dating but that has nothing to do with my camping blog. but i will say that i think it is a bad idea... just my opinion sorry Kate.
So all in all we had a wonderful time in Ocean city we got to hang out with a lot of friends from the fire department because that was fire week down there we enjoyed spending quality time with our kids and we would definitely go back next year .

packing and planning.

Hello all you bloggers out there. Our camping trip is come up fast, we leave for Ocean City Maryland June 13th. Where did the time go. I find that before we go camping I tend to get very anxious about what im going to pack and what we'll be eating for the week. All of you other campers out there no its never good to over pack considering the small amount of storage space you have in the RV. I am an over packer I always pack to much and now that we have kids its worse. You never know what the weather is going to be like. so i find myself packing two outfits per day, a hot outfit and a cool outfit. Since we'll be going to the boardwalk at night i need to pack jackets and pants a couple of bathing suits towels for us all and tennis shoes and flip flops.
Food on the other hand will be slightly harder. My bother age 17 and my friend Kate age 22 will be joining us on this trip so that lessens the space and will make it more difficult all together. My friend Kate, bless her heart, is deathly allergic to dairy. I mean like throat closes can't breath allergic. so we'll have to figure out things to cook that wont kill her. i have no idea what I'm going to cook. I'm limited in what im going t be able to just due to the fact that I'm working with a very limited kitchen space. I'm hoping that i will be able to make do. Im not a very good cook to begin with and I only know how to make a couple of different things so wish me luck.
So between having 6 people in a trailer and not know what to cook for my best friend whom is allergic to milk I say this trip is going to be very interesting to say the least.

Hello all you campers.

Hello everyone. My name is Tobie Perry I have Two children a two year old and a 7 month old. My husbands name is Paul and we've been married for 4 years now. We meet in 2001 we started tent camping and i loved it. our favorite place to go was rockey gap and swallow fall in western Maryland. we tried to go as much as we could. When we had Mckenzie I decided that tent camping wasn't going to work anymore and we went out and purchased our first RV. its a 31 foot rockwood ultra lite. It has slides on both sides the sofa and dinette slide and on the other side a queen six been and a swing down bunk slide out. it has a bedroom up front with closet space on both sides and above. the bed folds up for storage underneath and it has a door that slides for privacy. the couch is a queen size blow up mattress with a dinette that also folds down into a bed. theres storage above the and below both the dinette and couch. then you have another closet and a cabinet over that and a sink and medicine cabinet with storage under the sink as well. that takes care of the left side. on the right you have the tv and entertainment center the kitchen refrigerator the bed with the swing bunk over top and the back it counter space and cabinets and draws. The bathroom also is back there to the right. Its nothing to to big but it fits us just fine. it sleeps 8 comfortably so we take friends and family with us a lot of the time. the more the merrier.
Our first trip for the year was to Rockey Gap it about 4 miles from Cumerland Maryland Paul and I took the kids for our anniversary. the weather was crapy but we had a good time all the same. Its one of the prettiest parks we go to mostly because of the man made lake it has a 2 mile radius and fit our trailer just fine. it was our first time towing the trailer there and I'm glad we did. This summer we have a trip planned to Frontier town in ocean city maryland we also want to go to Elk Neck, Harpers Ferry, Granet Hill in Gettysburg Pa, and maybe Hershey.
Now that we have two kids its been a bit trying, they both love the camp fire but naturally I'm a nervous wreck when Mckenzie walks around. Jp has been having trouble sleeping and we didn't get any sleep taking him he was up a lot of the time. Well I hope that i get a couple of followers who love camping as much as we do. I would love to share tips and stories and maybe even some camping recipes.. we all know how hard it is cooking in such a small kitchen. lol. well if you do drop by check out my other blog its called spilling my beans and is at blogspot.com as well. See you around and i hope to get some pictures up soon. HAPPY CAMPING :)
